Xfinity Internet on a Budget? It’s Not as Hard as You Think

With the availability of both fibre and DSL network connections, users of Xfinity internet are in for a treat. As per the latest analysis, Xfinity internet is one of the best options currently available in the market. If you are a current user of Xfinity internet or plan to get an Xfinity internet connection, you are on the right track. There are many advantages to opting for Xfinity Internet. A few of them are:

  • Availability of reliable service
  • Availability in a wide range of areas
  • Plenty of bundling options are available

As can be expected from every Internet service provider, Xfinity Internet also comes with its own set of problems. These are

  • Poor customer service options
  • If you wish to go for the advertised prices, you have to opt for the 1-year contract.

Despite the problems with Xfinity Internet, if you actually look at the speed and Internet plans available with Xfinity, you will be surprised. Xfinity currently offers seven different Internet plans that start at as low as $30.

Let’s check out the 7 different plans available with Xfinity Internet

  • Performance starter: starts at 20:00 $9.99 per month with a download speed of 25 MBPS.
  • Performance select: starts at$44.99 per month with a download speed of 100 MBPS.
  • Performance pro: starts at $59.99 per month with a download speed of 200 MBPS.
  • Blast pro: starts at $60 per month with a download speed of 400 MBPS.
  • Extreme pro: starts at$90 per month with a download speed of 600 MBPS.
  • Gigabit: starts at $100 per month with a download speed of 1000 MBPS.
  • Gigabit pro: starts at $299 per month with a download speed of 2000 MBPS.

The speed and data in the case of fiber plans.

Currently, Xfinity has rolled out only one fibre plan, the Gigabit pro. The Gigabit Pro is the ultimate ultra-fast Internet option that uses the fibre network to provide download and upload speeds all the way up to 2000 Mbps. This is 40 times faster than the speed you will get in the case of traditional connections.

The only problem with the Gigabit pro connection is that it is still at the early stages of being ruled out. Therefore, it is only available in a few cities. If you are living in a city where gigabyte pro may be available, you will have to look at the plans and pricing. Currently, Gigabit Pro is a pretty costly option, with the starting rate at $300 per month. You will also have to pay $500 for the installation charges and $500 for the activation fees.

Currently, this limited service seems to be unattainable for people belonging to the average middle-class. It not only has expensive monthly fees, but it also has many system requirements. It is being hoped that once this connection becomes available in other regions, it possibly will become more affordable. Until then, you should look at the other plans or look at other Internet service providers for fibre networks.

Cable Internet connections

Along with offering fibre Internet connections, Xfinity also offers cable Internet connections. These cable Internet connections normally range from a download speed of 25 Mbps all the way to 1000 Mbps. However, the performance and the speed may vary depending on where you live. Currently, Xfinity offers the highest Internet speeds amongst all the Internet service providers. They have a very dependable history of good performance. This means that there is a higher chance that you may actually get the download speed that is being advertised on their website. According to the speed test that was conducted in the year 2013, Xfinity was rated as the fastest service provider. This further proves the reliability of Xfinity Internet.

Xfinity does have a data cap. However, in most cases, customers do not have to worry about exceeding the data cap limit. In most states, Xfinity has set the data cap limit at 1 TV. As per this data cap, you can play games online 24 hours a day, every day for a period of 30 days. Despite this, you should have enough data left to watch your favourite shows online. Therefore, Xfinity provides enough data to satisfy the needs of most of its customers, even those with high Internet requirements.

If you are a part of a household that requires more than 1 TB of data every month, you should opt for the unlimited data option. For this, you will have to pay an extra $50 every month. You can also sign in to your Xfinity account to keep an eye on the data usage. This will be helpful when you decide whether you need a data upgrade or not. You may realise that one TB is enough for your household.
