A Dead Woman Surprises the family with an Incredible Christmas Gift
Yes, the title is absolutely correct. A woman who has already died a couple of years ago due to ovarian cancer has surprised her family with an auspicious Christmas gift. There could not be a better Christmas gift than this for the family.
Brenda Schmitz was 46 when she died of Ovarian Cancer in September 2011. It was a long battle with cancer before she gave up her breath. Cancer forced her to death but the feelings for family and friends remained intact in her.
When she was struggling with cancer in struggling days due to cancer, she wrote a letter to Des Moines, Iowa, Radio station and instructed her friend to forward it to them only when her husband already found a perfect woman.
As a result, the radio station invited her husband David into the studio who has currently entered into a relationship with another woman getting engaged. The studio shared the letter with her husband. When David was reading the letter out loud, there were tears in everyone’s eyes. The letter read:
“When you are in receipt of this letter, I will have already lost my battle to ovarian cancer,” Brenda wrote in the letter. “I am writing this letter to be sent to you by a dear friend who has instructions to do so when it was the time. I had to type this because I can hardly type anymore because of my shakiness. I told her once my loving husband David had moved on in his life and had met someone to share his life with again, to mail this letter to all of you at the station.”
“As I was thinking about my last months on earth,” she continued, “I told David my wishes after I was gone that I believed he’d follow through with the attitude and courage I know he possesses, what a great husband and father he is. I know all of this is extremely hard on him. He is the one making the best decisions from here on out for my family and ultimately finding a caring and compassionate woman in time to help raise the boys. She must be quite a lady.”
These words by Brenda touched the hearts of everyone in the studio and they could not hold on to the emotions. Every year, the radio station hosts evening of presents and wish letters. One of the best wish letters are picked up by the radio station and realized with the help of sponsors.
Brenda remained very poised and calm about the presence of another woman in David’s life and wished her the best in the journey with her husband. She instructed David to take care of her in all possible ways and that his new wife deserves all that pampering. She claimed that she loves whoever the new partner of David is.
In her Christmas wish, Brenda asked the Radio station to organize a trip for her family. This trip is meant to take her children to Disneyland. Adding more, she asked for a night full of drinks, food and fun for her Hospital doctors who treated her for Cancer. These doctors are all from the Mercy Medical Hospital.
When moment her wish was read out on the radio station, many local businesses came forward to grant sponsorship taking her children to Disney world for 4 days and to realize all her wishes. The station officials were shocked and surprised in a good way after they wrote the letter. They had received so many letters in the last 20 years but none had been as touching as this one. The station manager Scott Allen reported that no one could remain without wet eyes in the station; no one could control their emotions. David recollected that he misses her and he can feel Brenda’s presence with the family even now.
